Ubuntu at Work Green Shopping Bag

Designed by Yamuna Mukherjee, this shopping bag was embroidered by Ubuntu at Work women micro entrepreneurs in the small town of Ramanagaram.  The bag is lined with luxurious silk from antique saris donated by Ubuntu at Work supporters from Bangalore. Each bag comes with a letter thanking you for buying the bag from the woman micro entrepreneur who embroidered it.

The bag is spacious enough to accomodate a dozen paperbacks, the jumble of things you need to carry with you, double up as a chic diaper/baby bag, or take it out to your neighborhood grocery store to bag a few necessities.  Use this bag and you’re saving the environment and helping fight poverty.  Take it to Paris, London, or Dubai, and you’ll likely find members of the local Ubuntu at Work chapters carrying the identical bags!  All this while you strengthen the real and virtual Ubuntu at Work global community.
